Do you ever get frustrated because you set up an organizing system and then you don’t stick to it? Sometimes, organizing is about changing a habit. Maybe the new system you created is too different from the system you already had. Don’t try to Marie Kondo your entire wardrobe if you haven’t been folding things in the first place. Give yourself a smaller goal, like Marie Kondo-ing your underwear, something where you can have some initial success.
I previously heard that it takes 21 days to change a habit, so I went looking for more information on that. It turns out that’s not necessarily the case. More important than the number of days is your level of commitment to the change of habit, your internal and external accountability for the habit, and the size of the change.
